There's nothing like a relaxing cup of tea with a home made scone or warming bowl of broth in a traditional setting. In the Heart of Hadrian's Wall there are many friendly villages and small towns for that light snack or warming drink, for when you've worked up a serious appetite exploring the Heart of Hadrian's Wall.

Many of our gardens and stately homes have beautiful tearooms too serving locally made snacks, often with great views out over the landscaped grounds to enjoy while you eat. Why not make a visit to Wallington Hall or to nearby Kirk Harle Courtyard, birth place of the famous landscape architect Capability Brown.

You will also find many farm shops have quality cafes on site. Places such as Slack House Farm, Vallum Farm, Herding Hill Farm, Askerton Farm and Brocksbushes are within a short car journey of the Wall, where you can enjoy a light snack while you think about what locally grown and organic foods you might want to take home with you.
