Hands-on-Latin is run by Catherine Jarvis “Hadriana”, an experienced linguist, guide and ‘Minimus - the Latin Mouse’ teacher. Hands-on-Latin offers a range of language and history courses. The fun-filled courses combine book, multimedia and interactive studies with tours of Roman remains around the World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall.
The exact balance between language training (Spanish, Italian, French, Latin) and guiding can be customised for each course ~ taster, beginner, intermediate or advanced level courses.
Further taster, beginner and intermediate courses are available based upon ‘Minimus Mouse’, a mix of myths and stories about a family that lived at Vindolanda during the initial Roman occupation.
Hands-on-Latin also offers a range of themed courses on specific aspects of Roman life and culture, including cookery, religion, pottery, warfare, love, music and gardening.
