A Grade 11 listed hotel, pub and restaurant, The Anchor is a charming, historic building full of character and located on the banks of the Tyne offering a really lovely view whatever the weather.
With a history including a role in the Roman occupations, the Jacobite rebellions, and as a local court house, the site and building have been occupied for 2000 years or so.
The food is quality, local, and delicious, and the bar offers a great selection of hand-pulled ales, beers and lagers, spirits and wines.
