Nestled on the banks of the salmon-filled River South Tyne and running alongside the bridleways and winding roads of the Sustrans Cycle Way, Wydon Farm is ideally situated for walking, cycling, fishing, shopping, sight-seeing, and exploring our beautiful countryside.
We’re a National Trust working farm, with 366 acre mixed beef and sheep. We passionately feel that we are more than just farmers, we are the custodians of Wydon Farm, preserving the history, heritage and the beautiful landscape that you see all around you when you visit. We have three extremely comfortable, accessible, and spacious ground floor bedrooms, all furnished to a high standard, all en-suite, one with 4-poster bed and whirlpool bath, and all housed in a luxurious barn conversion.
We’re proud to offer six miles of superb salmon fishing on the River South Tyne, with two rods from February till the end of October. The river is very well suited to fly-fishing but you are welcome to spin if you wish or the conditions dictate.
With all of the activities that our visitors take part in when they visit us, we take pride in setting them up for the day with our Breakfast of Champions. Our eggs are farm fresh, our meat and preserves are locally sourced, and our baked treats are all homemade.
We are open all year round, and it you would like to know a little more about our history or have a guided tour around the farm when you visit us, Linda would be happy to show you around, just ask!
