Music Sessions

Here’s a list of informal folk and acoustic music sessions round the area:

  • Barrasford Arms, Barrasford - 2nd & 4th Sundays of every month at 8.00pm (20.00hrs). Mixed session of music and song
  • The Feathers, Hedley on the Hill - 1st Sunday of every month at 8.00pm.  Music session
  • The Boathouse, Wylam - 1st Wednesday of every month at about 8.15pm. Music session
  • Mariners Hotel, Acomb - Every Thursday (March to November inclusive) from 8.30pm. Mixed singing and music session. 
  • The Miners Arms, Acomb - 1st Monday of every month at about 8pm. Music Session
  • Railway Inn Fourstones - Periodic folk nights / sessions usually on a Saturday evening. Check with venue (01434 674711) for forthcoming events.
  • The Crown Inn, Humshaugh  - 2nd Tuesday of every month from 8pm. Music Session
  • Bridge End Inn, Ovingham - 3rd Wednesday of every month from about 8pm. Mixed music and singing session.
  • The Gun Inn, Ridsdale - 1st Monday of every month from about 8pm. Music session with local musicians and music.
  • Tap and Spile, Hexham - 3rd Thursday of every month at 8.00pm. Music session. Also occasional other sessions plus usually booked group on a Sunday afternoon.
  • Tap & Spile, Morpeth - Every Sunday lunchtime.  Music session with mostly local tunes.
  • Howard Arms, Brampton - 3rd Tuesday of every month at 8.30pm. Mixed music and song session.
  • The Black Bull, Blaydon - Every Thursday at 8.30pm. Tynefolk folk club. Strong Tyneside singing tradition plus regular guest nights, See Tynefolk website for details.
  • BAA Club (Bellingham All Acoustic) - periodic music nights with guests in venues in the North Tyne Valley. See local press or the website for details.
  • The Hearth at Horsley, Horsley - Holds periodic music nights with a guest doing a concert set. View website for details of events.
  • Queen’s Hall, Hexham - The Queen’s Hall is the main performing arts venue in Hexham. View website for any forthcoming  concerts / performances.
