Beamish is a wonderful place that brings history to life but you must allow a full day to fully experience the extent of the exhibits, and even then you may not see everything in one visit!
Beamish Museum contains an operational tramway with historic trams which transport you round the various parts of the 300 acre site, or you may get a ride on one of the replica buses.
It also contains a full reconstruction of Rowley Station and signal box as well as a waggonway on which you will be hauled by a replica of either Steam Elephant (1815), Locomotion No 1 (1825) or Puffing Billy (1813).
