Chipchase Castle is a 17th-century Jacobean mansion incorporating a substantial 14th-century Pele Tower which stands north of Hadrian’s Wall, near Bellingham. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Grade I listed building. Chipchase Castle, with its spectacular views, is a privately owned family home. The house is open to the public from the 1st to the 28th June 2010, from 2pm to 5pm daily (last tour at 4.30pm). Tours are available by arrangement at other times.
Chipchase Castle Gardens & Nursery is open from Easter to the 31 August, Thursday to Sunday & Bank Holiday Mondays, from 10am to 5pm. and has a wonderful selection of plants to interest the enthusiast and novice alike.
